New Project

In the pregnancy world, I’m definitely in the home stretch. Can’t breathe easily. Baby figured out how to kick and sit in my ribs. Major pregnancy brain.
I mean really. I had heard about all these “symptoms”, but I guess you really don’t quite understand them until you’ve experienced them.

It just makes me want this baby more and more. Don’t know if I can wait another 2 months!

Speaking of waiting, I’ve almost finished my cross stitch. It won’t be COMPLETELY finished until after the baby arrives, since I’m going to stitch his name, birthdate, etc. into it, but otherwise, the majority of it is nearly finished.
Which means I need a NEW project to keep me entertained during the 12 hours Dallas is away at work (and I guess when he is home and doing homework)
I have wanted to make a baby blanket for some time, but laziness, and not finding just the right pattern, helped me push back this project. However, on Pinterest the other day, a friend pinned an ADORABLE quilt I want to try. It does seem a bit harder than beginner, but I don’t quite consider myself a beginner. Probably barely one tiny baby step above beginner, but nonetheless!

Quilts are something I absolutely love, especially the style with free stitch finishing. That’s something I’ve never attempted before, so I didn’t want something too difficult. Which, again, is why this is perfect, because it gives the look of free stitching, but still in straight lines, making it easy for me!

So this week, sometime, I plan on going out to buy some fabric and getting started. Hopefully this will take much longer than my cross-stitching project, or else I’ll have to come up with something new in a few weeks to keep me busy!

Ready for this baby!!!!

My belly continues to get bigger by the minute. (I swear!) This picture is at 26 or 27 weeks and I feel like I’ve already doubled in size since week 25! And to think I was so hopeful I would only get about this big – just wait until my ninth month! Those pictures are sure to give you a good laugh.

This week I finally packed up my pre-pregnancy clothes. It was getting ridiculous trying to squeeze into them any longer. Thankfully I have wonderful friends who are lending me lots of their maternity clothes so I don’t have to go blow money on an entirely new wardrobe right now!

As of late, I’ve been extremely bored. Who would have thought I’d actually miss not going back to school this semester? Really though, I’m jealous of you all in school right now. Dallas thinks I’m crazy to feel that way, but he’s taking Anat & Phys this semester so I’m sure he’d love to switch places with me.

Since I don’t even have school to keep me busy, I’ve had to find new things to entertain me throughout the day. We bought a tv for our anniversary (yeah, we’ve gone an entire year without owning a tv. It was actually really nice!) so that’s helped a little bit. But who wants to sit in front of the tv all day?
So I’ve also started a baby cross-stitch for our son. My mom did one for each of her children (although she has yet to finish mine and Claire’s…hint hint), so I decided I continue the “tradition”. I will say Winnie the Pooh wasn’t my first choice, but it was one of the easier and cheaper ones. Looking good so far, right?

Pretty much I’m ready for this baby to be here now. We still have 3 months to go, though, so I guess I’ll have to continue keeping myself busy in the meantime.

On a completely different side-note, I’m hosting a giveaway right now. Go enter it and spread the word!

Hurricane Isaac

I finally became brave enough last week to upload some pregnancy picture onto facebook. So I suppose I’ll share some with my blog readers as well!

Here is my best looking picture so far at 25 weeks. I bought the maternity dress at Target on Saturday and LOVE it. I’d avoided maternity clothes as long as I possibly could – but I just couldn’t squeeze into my pre-pregnancy dresses one more Sunday.

This boy is still as active as ever, and it’s still becoming more and more difficult for me to sleep at night. Last night I even ended up taking a bath at 2:00 am and fell asleep for two hours because it was more comfortable on my belly than laying in bed!

In other news, this week was quite eventful for Dallas and I! We survived the first hurricane ever in our lives. That sounds a lot more exciting than it really was. We were extremely blessed and nothing happened for us at all. No power outages (which is the worst of it usually for people in our area), no flooding, no trees or other objects crashing into our apartment or cars – just lots of wind and rain! But being Idahoans, we’re quite used to the wind!

It is kinda cool that we are able to say we’ve lived through a hurricane though! And on the plus side, they closed down the job site so Dallas had the entire week off, which was perfect timing for our First Anniversary!

We bought our first tv (finally) for our anniversary present and I cannot WAIT for it to be delivered this week.
Dallas also surprised me with a GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers (which I’ll post a picture of once the lilies begin to bloom) and took me out to dinner.

All in all, Hurricane Isaac made this one of the best weeks ever by forcing my hunky hubby home with me all week!
